Moonlight Valley Ventrilo!

Well hello there. I was thinking since we do have a good size community here, I could ask my guild leader in guildwars if we could use our ventrilo to host some of the people here =) On it we already have a group of friends who play RF as well as other games, and since the ventrilo does have 50 slots, we could hold other who would like to join in on the fun. I do hold admin on it, so any faggotry will NOT and I repeat NOT be tolerated. For now I'll post the info on here, and if other wise posted or told to me by the forum owner/my GW guild leader, we can use the server =)

Also, don't worry if you don't have a mic or not. You can listen in on us just fine without one, but it'd be nice if you could get one. I hear 360 headsets work, as well as pretty much anything with a microphone feature and a USB slot.

Ventrilo - Surround Sound Voice Communication Software (http://www.ventrilo.com) for the download.

Once ventrilo is downloaded start it up.

Click the arrow on the right side of the window next to user name.

Click new.

All you need is a user name, phonetic is not needed. Once done click okay.

Next, click the arrow directly underneath the arrow for user name, this one is for the server info.

Type in the info listed above for the IP Address/Hostname, Port Number, and password. That will be all you need.

Click okay, and then connect.

Skype always seems to lag for me, as in people's voices crack and can't be heard well at times. Never had trouble with Ventrilo besides adjusting my volume so my music doesn't destroy anyone XD

I know what you're going on about with walkie talkies, but explain how a 12 way phone conversation is better then having a full ventrilo server, with seperate channels for people doing different things, and even when you have 12 people in one channel, you don't have to listen to them all breathing and all there background noise since all they have to do is press a button to talk.

Please, if you're going to have a valid argument post the pros and cons of skype compared to ventrilo for an internet talk program.

a walkie-talkie is a small portable radio link (receiver and transmitter).

Skype is good for around three or four people in a conference call tops. It is better for just one-on-one, but once you get to four people, it can be a hassle trying to get your thoughts in over the other person. That being said, Ventrilo is better for the larger groups.

Considering there's a dedicated channel for Moonlight Valley, I don't think you'll have any problems.

The Ventrilo probably isn't dedicated to MLV anymore. If I can get atleast more than 5 people with mics, I can establish a Ventrilo server.

EDIT: I know how to operate and create custom channels as well. I used to operate one back in Warrock (Bad game, don't try it).
