It's perspective. Art means different things to different people, different kind of art is good to different kind of people. I'm pretty sure not everyone treasure's Picasso's abstract art to actually be good. In fact, some people find it stupid.

That being said, even being an acquaintance or whatever bullshit, it hardly matters. People can judge whatever they want.

How can you claim to know anything about art when you fail to realize that mr. acquaintance of real artists.

If it discourages him, then good. If it encourages him, even better. I will not try constructive criticism for something that looks like it was drawn in kindergarten.

A decent human being? I'd rather be the most indecent guy in the world so long as I can be completely blunt and honest. I pulled no punches to Emo art when I said what I said. If it's so wrong, let me rephrase it.

"It's fucking terrible, take art lessons before you draw again."

Art is more of a talent as it is a skill. Remember Simon from American Idol? He's quite harsh, but that's the reality of it (and his opinions are actually pretty valid). If Emo doesn't have the talent, forget it. If he doesn't have the skills yet, try again later. I haven't seen a single good art from him ranging from flaming bacon people to wierd furry creatures all terribly drawn. No improvement. I at least changed my artstyle within 3 years, and I'm not even a dedicated artist.

Rude honesty is good sometimes. People will hate you, but in the end, who knows what benefits it will yield. If Emo draws something good, I'll be glad to say "hey not bad".
