Muay Thai and Moonlight Control

This guide is on how to control Muay Thai on one of the best edging maps in Rumble Fighter.

Muay Thai. A very deadly fighting style in real life and also in the game of Rumble Fighter. With its Incredible knock backs and pretty good damage makes it one of the best all-round scroll available.

Now, Muay Thai may not have the most combos, but these 3 alone have one of the best mid level damage out there.

The miracles of Muay Thai on Moonlight:

The miracles that Muay Thai makes will leave anyone stunned or surprised. When your on Moonlight this scroll can really knock your opponent off easy. Since Moonlight is basically an edging stage this scroll is most useful for knocking people off the edge. Since the punches on Muay Thai are fast you will most likely hit first before your opponent hits you, unless he uses fast kicks like mao or something like that.

But beware, there are so many rammers on moonlight that you can easily get robbed of your kill. Remember to always keep your distance from rammers, find your 1 v 1s if not then you`ll probably get hit from the back and end up falling off the map. But if you know you can handle constant rammers and mobs then you should be fine. If not you better listen up people.

Angling on Moonlight:

Now, Angling on moonlight can be pretty easy at times and hard at times. The bridges are pretty tough to edge off of, because sometimes you might end up falling before you get to land your last hit. Now, on to angling. Some bridges have walls on the side of them so you might wanna use those walls to your advantage.

The mid and lower center platforms are the most used platforms for edging due to the mid center wide platform perfect for angling and its lower center platform for its 2 railings which can save your life or take it. Now take a look at the picture, I'm sorry but I couldn't find the whole map of moonlight, now as you can see the railings can be a life saver. Since Muay Thai moves forward a lot it might be best if you stick close to walls or rails to avoid falling otherwise you'll be falling and complaing on how you shouldn't have fallen off. Now on the mid right platform there is a railing and a cactus.

On both side of those there is a little invisible platform on both lower platforms so if you didn't know that you might wanna angle instead of letting them fall straight. Now for the top platforms the only way to knock them off is towards the moon which would be best because, there is little spots to angle off of. If you happen to be on the lower left and mid left platforms there are many spots to angle off of and just normal edging off of. For example the lower bridge that connects to the mid platform there is a little open spot where you can fall off, use that wall from the mid platform to your advantage and knock them off. This is my favorite spot to knock off of so if you see me in game watch out =).

Now for the top platforms those are the most unused spots in moonlight because people would rather stay on the mid and lower platforms due to its many edges. But there are some spots at the top platform, for example on the top right platform you can see that if you angle bottom left if your facing left that there is and open spot right there that can send your opponent falling to his DOOM! But be careful if you send your opponent too far he will end up landing on the mid lower platform so be sure to not finish the PPPK combo in stead just use PPP or KKK or PKK. Now if your facing right there is 2 rails and a open spot between them if your angle is setup go for it, but if you know that your gonna miss just keep going forward and send him flying over the rail.

What we learned so far:

Well to some up this part of the angling. Always watch where your angling, at anytime during the match, watch your back or you could end up falling and most of all be aware of where your angling. If your not careful you can miss your chance or make yourself fall.

Note: Muay Thais PPPK combo moves forward a lot so if your close to an edge and are about to fall don't try and angle or it means death for both you and your opponent.

Railings to your advantage:

Ok we pretty much covered the angling on moonlight now we learn how to use the railings to save your life. There are a lot railings that you can use to save your life. First we will start off with the lower mid railings. These railings can sometimes be very useful. Say you are on the opposite side of the rail when your about to fall off your opponent might panic, ram, jump kick or just block your recover kick then knock you off so what your gonna do is delay your recover kick hoping that your opponent will miss his chance of knocking you off.

But be aware that this will not always work. Pros can easily predict this so be careful of who you are fighting because things wont always go your way. Another alternative is side blocking. Side blocking is very useful when it comes to close edges. Side blocking will actually not make you fall but push you left or right depnding on which way you are side blocking. Now for the mid platforms this goes for mid right and left, the rails here are not as helpful as the lower platform railings except the mid right platform which has an invisible platform on the other side so reviewing from what I said earlier about side blocking and delaying recover kick will save you also. Now for the top platform railings, these railings will not be used as much but follow the same method as the other railings and you should be fine. Be aware that some scrolls can ground pound from lower levels so just be careful.

Sticky Wall:

Now there is a wall on Moon that you can get stuck to. And that spot is the low mid platform. The wall on the left side while running or walking along it will prevent you from falling off by grab, ram or combo. But that stickiness ends halfway across the bridge so be careful. Sometimes if knocked up high enough you can end up on the mid center platform rail. This Wall works really well for Angling since it'll hold hold on to you if your trying to angle your opponent off the bridge but the wall will most likely hold the person you are trying to edge off also so what you might wanna do is push him/her far enough onto the bridge close to the break point where the stickiness ends and just knock him/her up or down. Always remember this spot is used a lot for ramming so be careful on who your fighting 'cause it just might be a camper.

Platform Advantages:

Hope you've been paying attention because now its time for platform advantages! On the platforms of Moonlight, Muay Thai works its miracles against any adversary. The platforms may be narrow and close to each other but that's when muay thai can work its magic. The platforms are just right for edging, just watch your step.

Now there is a huge gap between the mid right platform and the lower mid platform and just as I said in the railings to your advantage section, angle your opponent towards the moon which is best if you use the PPPK combo. Now if you wanna edge the other way use KKK or PKK combo`s cuz they do not move as much PPPK combo.

For the high and the very highest platforms they are pretty big and long..Ehh scratch that..wide in length and width to be more clearer. Now these are the most safest places on the map where edging is not common like the mid and lower platforms, but can also be very dangerous. With so many pros in Rumble Fighter edging for them would be a breeze. So remember stick close to walls and cactus Yes cactus, you cant be edge off them due to height. Unless you Get Bu combo-ed or if someone has a range exo and sniping you from a distance. Or say your standing on top of the Cactus you can easily get hit by a Sniping Exo or a Dash Exo like Blade Spirit or Blood Revolver. But chance of that happening won't be often since most people on moon like to stick with there scrolls.

What we learned:

Well we learned how to use the platforms on Moonlight to a better advantage such as never stick close to railings, always use walls and such to your advantage to not fall off and much more. Now I forgot to add this in. If your falling in the center of the map due to sloppy jumping or sliding off, nanmu to the closest platform as fast as you can or yull miss your chance to save yourself. That or just regular double jump if your close enough.

Note: Things will not always go to plan so use the platforms wisely.

But wait before you end RedLight. What exocores would be useful for MoonLight?

Well ok I guess I can spare a few more words. There are around 10 major exos used on moonlight. I will list the most common 5 Exos used on moonlight. I will post more when I can think.

1. Taurus - Now the taurus is the most horrible spammed exocore in the history of Moonlight. With its spinning log special it will instantly interrupt you while your opponent is blocking. A waste of 203 Astros but commonly used for various reasons. - Soul Fighter only.

2. Yaki Cannon - This Exocore is still quite famous and worth the 203 Astros. For it has 2 unblockable specials that will send you or your opponent running away. Both specials can be easily used for edging weather it be a fence blocking or a wall nothing can stop this unstoppable exocore! - Alchemist only.

3. Ninja Spirit - Ah this classic exocore is very common around moonlight. If you don't have one well your not a ninja! Anyways this exo has a great and fast knockup ability that can send your opponents flying off the map if the hit box is at an odd position. The ninja star special can be thrown across the map until hit. Now some may not know this but this can actually go thru a certain wall in moonlight without you knowing it. It can also go thru one opponent and hit another without you knowing it. How? Well once you see the star disappear it actually is still moving until it hits another wall or person. - Soul fighter only.

4. MAS - I hate this exocore now that Devil Fang is out. Now this scroll has a shoryuken special that is commonly spammed. It is mainly used for countering or interrupting someones combo while your blocking. It can also knock up someone while your facing the fence or wall or in other words when your back ins turned from your opponent. - All Classes.

5. DF - Or White Devil Fang as most may call it or just Fang. This Exocore has been released recently and is now a growing sensation in MoonLight. With its fast flash kick special and its fangs special can both easily knock you or your opponent off the map. See the Flash Kick special is faster than MAS`s Shoryuken special so making this Exo the better choice for edging. The Fang special can sometimes angle edge your opponent if the hit box is odd making this one useful exocore in terms of edging. - All Classes.

I Know theres more Exos so if you would like to contribute to this section by all means do so and you shall be credited and thanked.

Conclusion:

In conclusion Muay Thai is one of the best scrolls that edging has ever seen. Some people may think other wise but they are not Muay Thai enthusiast like I am. Just post if you didn't understand any of this.

Update: I will be posting some new things and some old things i forgot about here.

1. When using exos on moonlight it is best to keep distance if your exocore moves forward a lot so as I said above use the rails, cactus and all that and you wont fall, simple.

2. The Back Front Facing Ram - Happens when your back is facing your opponent but when rammed on some places in Moon it acts as if your facing forward. So try to side block in the right direction as quickly as possible. Common spot this happens is the Mid lowest platform which connects the 2 bridges.

I sold Muay Thai. I played terribly with the scroll. It is a very good scroll, but I wish I bought Mao Gong instead.

P-K-K can hit people over the fence but you have to hit them from the back

RedLight
October 18th, 2008, 02:56 AM
you sure? I tried that on every rail never works unless you hit them from the back or get them at an angle

Jyuken
October 18th, 2008, 03:00 AM
Yeah its pretty rare to do it but it worked from hitting them in the back.

Angle I never knew you could cause I tried P-P-P-K Combo and when I try to angle with it I miss.

Same with P-P-K

RedLight
October 18th, 2008, 03:05 AM
hmm ok heres an explanation: for pppk yull either need to have your opponent at an angle or drift around him leaving some space on your left side always works and will connect if you delay right. now do you mean pkk?

Jyuken
October 18th, 2008, 03:09 AM
Yeah someone spilled syrup on the keyboard so not working correctly

Yeah P-K-K

RedLight
October 18th, 2008, 03:12 AM
cant angle with PKK? well what you wanna do is either leave some room on your left or right side depending on where your angling.

Jyuken
October 18th, 2008, 03:15 AM
Angling at Moonlight on the bridges on the lower platform

Cause the bridge is slim and high chance Im going to fall if I miss and opponet grabs me

Or to close to the edge and fall off on my own

RedLight
October 18th, 2008, 03:18 AM
what do you mean like your having trouble angling on the bridges? well you can use the KKK combo angle the last kick same goes for PKK and PPPK but for PPPK the last knee stick close to the walls to get a good angle otherwise yull just fall cuz as it says in my guide PPPK moves forward alot.

Jyuken
October 18th, 2008, 03:22 AM
Yeah I just tried the PPPK combo on the bridge fell to my death

PKK Got better at it

KKK Also got better at it.

I understand

Yeah its pretty rare to do it but it worked from hitting them in the back.

Same with P-P-K

Should you be facing left and want to get the opponent to fall towards the bottom use p-k-k, if facing right use k-k-k

you can see the properties of the kicks if you try them out, if you want to opponent to fall ...uh...north, then just reverse the kicks judging by your directions

Muay is really hard on moon, since any mistake with a muay user = edged.
Not only it has huge knowback, "agleability" and fence kick, it also is really easy to juggle with if you air kick some1 or catch them after an exo attack...

For me, this and DM ram spammers are the terror in moon (DM spammer cuz they camp a LOT)
