Advanced Techniques

By: RedLight

This is a guide on advanced techniques often used by pros in Rumble Fighter.

Advanced Techniques:

Angle: How do you angle? Simple, diagnolly press your arrow keys or your controller stick (If you use controller) during your combos. Don’t know what I mean? Well heres is what im saying. Say in a match you have your 1 v 1 you catch your opponent with a combo. What you wanna do is press your 2 arrow keys in the direction you want to angle to. For example, wanna angle to the left? Hold down left arrow with down or up arrow depending on where you want your opponent to fall to. Now if you got knocked down your recover kick can be angled if you stall for a little while make sure you dont roll because to angle with recover kick you need to delay for it to work.

Note: Your angles wont always hit so make sure your in a right spot where you know you cant miss. You can also angle while your jumping just watch where you jump.

Delay: How do you delay? Don’t press your buttons to fast instead wait for a brief moment then press it again. Pay attention to your combos speed to get the delays to work good. Example. Say you wanna confuse your opponent, what you wanna do is don’t spam your buttons fast like PPPP or KKKK instead briefly wait awhile like P P P P or K K K K but remember as I said earlier, pay attention to your scrolls speed cuz not all scrolls have good delays.

Note: Delays work best with scrolls like Shidokan, Guemgantu Pa Kua Kwon, Judo etc. If you have a scroll that can delay good like those mentioned use them.

Drifting: Don’t know how to drift? To drift simply side step around your enemy to force him to unblock. How do you side step? Easy move around, simple right? Example. When hitting your blocking opponent or just hitting him head on don’t finish your combo, instead move around him. If your opponent knows that you moved around him he will likely block in the spot you are trying to hit him on. So be sure that you confuse him.

Note: Drifting wont always work. So be sure to mix up your movements confuse him.

Juggle: Don’t no how to juggle either? Well if you have a scroll that has a launcher like Koroshu for example, time your hits after you launch so that it will work. If you don’t get it heres an example. Say you have a scroll like Dragon. Now this scroll has a flash kick that launches you up in the air. So what happens is your opponent will be in the air for a brief moment, now time your first punch or kick while your opponent is falling in mid air. Catch him quick before he hits the ground. This can be pretty hard at times either because your still new to juggling or your keyboard/Controller sucks. So always practice.

Note: juggling is very effective in a match wether it be singles or teams. Just watch out for near by people because they will mess you up.

Grabbing: Now grabbing is most common in Rumble Fighter. It is mainly used by ppl who have grabbing scrolls like Judo and Pro Wrestling. How do you grab? Just press ZX or Punch Guard at the same time. If you use a controller same thing just press your guard and punch button. Heres an example on how to make your grabbing more advanced. In a match there will be constant grabbers and you might see them angle it. How do you do this you ask? Well reviewing about the angling part of the guide applys to this as well so if you wanna angle your grab hold a diagnol direction you want to throw your opponent to. Now some scrolls can grab you from the side or back like Pro Wrestling and judo. Other scrolls can do this but most of them arent released yet for RF players. Normal scrolls like Muay Thai and such can grab while you are side blocking so watch out. Now don’t complain about side blocking because no one likes a whiner.

Note: Now for some scrolls they throw forward like Pro Wrestling. So be aware of which scrolls throw behind you and which scrolls throw in front of you.

Jumping Technique: the sweeping jump kick is performed by jumping above an enemy then double jump kicking toward the enemy right as you land. This provides a nice damage bonus as well as putting you on the offensive <- Added by Llami

Note: If you dont know how to jump you gotta be kidding me.....

Panic Technique: when a panic is used as an instantaneous interrupt method of knocking someone off or countering an already in progress panic by panicking at the same moment as the opponent. <- Added by Llami

Note: If you dont know how to panic press XC or kick punch at the same time. Also not much of an advanced technique but can be useful at times.

Conclusion: Now that you know how to do these techniques its time to put it all into play. Try it out yull be surprised how better you can be.

Sub-par, inadequate descriptions, and generally just saying" Hey, this is an advanced technique."
Give me the impression that you know WHAT they are, but the small description makes me think you don't know much about it. You could give examples, or go into more detail.

advanced advanced...
all based on scrolls?

as for all player usage maneuvers
how about angled counter attacks and sweeping jump kick?

(the sweeping jump kick is performed by jumping above an enemy then
double jump kicking toward the enemy right as you land. This provides
a nice damage bonus as well as putting you on the offensive)

Like when a panic is used as an instantaneous interrupt method of knocking someone off or countering an already in progress panic by panicking at the same moment as the opponent

I'd say if it's a technique that exists in the game that isn't an exploit of a glitch or anything of the sort, then there shouldn't be any reason not to use these techniques for winning or whatever, regardless of whether if people deem it to be a skill-less technique or not. Besides, you only get one panic, unless you buy the extra panic thing, so it's your choice to use your only panic to kill people or to protect yourself.

Besides, when it comes to people calling others n00b for simply throwing people, you know that the word n00b has no meaning now.

yea I know the word noob has no meaning just gets annoying.
