Introduction: Im here with another stage control guide. This time its about one of the most played stages in RF, Glacier Cove.

Edges: The edges on this map are very big. The edge placements are in the back, the front and in the middle of the map. Be aware that there is a big gap in the middle of the map so be sure not to fall.

Platforms, Bridges and Islands: Now there are not that many platforms like Moonlight, but this map has one of the widest platforms so if your planning on edging it might take awhile. Now the platforms are on both left and right sides. The lower platforms are the widest on both sides. On both side platforms there is a mid and high platform which connects to the middle bridge. The middle bridge is very skinny so if your planning on running across it be sure not to get tagged when your running after someone. Now in the middle of this stage there are 2 island platforms 1 small and 1 big. Now the big island is closest to the the front of the map and is equal in length when jumping from left or right platforms. The small island is closest to the middle bridge and right platforms which leaves a big gap for the left platform, so your gonna have to run jump to get to that island coming from the left side. Now the 2 islands, there is a gap in the middle of it so be sure to make a run jump from the big island to the small island.

Bridge Control: Now that you know what the platforms are like its time to control them. First we start with the bridge. The bridge is often used to edge off of because of its short in width so edging is easy. Now say that you have a scroll that doesn’t move foreward a lot like shidokan for example, the KKK combo does not move forward alot and the kicks can be easily angled. But be sure that when you angle your opponent off do not angle so close to the right platform because of that little island at the bottom can sometimes save your opponent, instead angle towards the back of the map instead of the center. Other techniques you can do is angle counter if your lucky enough or facing the front of the map and just spamming that jump kick which is most used by anyone. Now if your facing a mob coming after you on the bridge a Exo or you own scroll control would be best. Since the bridge is short in width only 1 person can cross if 2 ppl try to cross side by side one of you will fall, so you will sometimes see a line of ppl coming after you or if its singles match samething except its FFA and ppl will just be spamming exos so be sure to watch out. 1 more thing before we get on to island control. Do not fall for angle recovery kicks on the bridge because that’s what usually happens if someone is knocked down on the bridge. Also you will have like at least 2 - 3 inches of space on either side of the bridge if you are in the middle of it so if you have a scroll that move forward alot stick close to the edge and angle your opponent down but make sure he used his panic if not block it if you can.

Island Control: Okay, well we talked about how to control the bridge now we learn to use the island to a better advantage. Now there is a little island and a big island as you can see in the picture. The big island is always ran across and used, if your ever in a situation where you need to use the island to edge people off this would be best. Now there are some invisible platform spots on the big island but that’s when you know that you are and inch away from the real edge so this can actually save yourself. Now there will be many rammers on this island so if theres ever a mob or something make sure you stick to the center of the island. Now with the little island can fit about 4 ppl on it. A simple panic can easily take you out because it is that small. So if your ever on the little island be sure not to spam your hits cuz it takes about 3 steps forward to fall so be sure to use jump kicks. Now exo like the 3 Skyhorns or any sniping exo would work good because the specials don’t move forward and will give you a good advantage to knock people off if they are coming to the island.

Platform Details: Now theres not much to platform control because they are so wide so heres details you should know. Look at the picture and look at the right lower platform closest to the little island. That little point is not a solid platform its like a illusion edge where you think your not gonna fall but that’s where your mistake is. That point is a straight line not pointed so don’t be confused. Now at the very back of the right platform there is a huge empty space of platform. Now you will see the water at the very back you cannot edge because it is just a wall, again another illusion. With the left platform, at the very back that is a open spot where you can edge.

Conclusion: Well that’s pretty much to it. Theres not a lot of advantages to this stage because the platforms are huge. The only things you need to know about is the islands and bridges and how to control them without making yourself fall off.
